Nabil Maleh

Nabil Maleh is a Syrian-born film director, producer, screenplay writer, poet & painter. He received his MFA from the Film Academy (FAMU)– Charles University - Prague. He is considered to be the father of modern Syrian cinema. He has a credit of over 150 films (long feature, documentary experimental and short) with over 60 International awards. He has served as a member or president of jury at many international film festivals and has taught filmmaking, screenwriting, and film aesthetics at many universities and faculties including being a visiting professor (Fullbrighter) in Austin (Texas) and (UCLA). He has worked & resided for over 25 years in several European countries. Due to the current unrest in Syria, he is currently residing in Dubai, U.A.E.
